Good Business Charter accreditation award.
15/11/2021

We recently applied for (and have been awarded!) the Good Business Charter accreditation. The Good Business Charter is a simple accreditation which organisations in the UK can sign up to in recognition of responsible business practices. It measures behaviour over 10 components: real living wage, fairer hours and contracts, employee well-being, employee representation, diversity and inclusion, environmental responsibility, paying fair tax, commitment to customers, ethical sourcing, and prompt payment. It wasnt until we engaged with GBC that we realised we were already following all ten components, but it is quite an achievement to be publicy recognised for how we run our business.

We are excited and proud to announce we have moved into a brand new purpose built premises as of 1st June 2020. Despite the challenges Covid presented, we managed to shift our entire business over the course of a week whilst remaining compliant and responsible to our colleagues and suppliers. Perhaps the most important piece of news within news is that we now draw 100% of our electricity from a solar farm on site. This means we are virtually carbon neutral as a production facility (even our fork lifts are electric). We hope that when considering your supply chain, Send And Receive Ltd will be THE environmentally friendly choice, allowing you to offset a great deal of the carbon footprint generated with any project. Please get in touch if you would like some more information on our facility and services. In the mean time, please remain safe and well.

Is it unreasonable to be excited about a new fork lift arriving? Or a new Neopost all singing all dancing enclosing machine? well, July has been amazing even if bits of machinery dont excite you! Along with the forklift, the warehouse has been racked out and the space made good for the new machine. Shiny new iMacs have also been installed in the offices and we are certainly well on our way to providing the services we have been planning for the last year or so.

We have moved! After struggling on in our serviced office we have finally made the move to a brand new unit on Pineham Farm in Milton Keynes. It is a beautiful old dairy farm that has been converted into rather plush new units for small businesses. We have 2,000 sq ft [which seems enormous after having just an office] but it will certainly be a very nice home for the short term.

Founded in May 2010, we proudly took receipt of the keys to a serviced office in Milton Keynes. Two old PC’s and one £5.99 Argos telephone were swiftly installed and we felt on top of the world. Our ambitions then were nothing more than to enjoy the freedom of being self employed and, hopefully, make enough money to pay the bills and feed the family. However, we quickly realised that with the work we were able to attract in the first few months that a serviced office was not going to be enough to house us or the requirements of our customers.
